I have a hard time writing about skincare because I have a lot of ‘ favorite’ products. I have certain masks, essences, serums, night creams, etc. that I keep on hand for certain situations so it is really hard to just give a ‘general skincare post’.  I’m going to try to stream line todays post so that I answer the important/key products + the products I find myself recommending the most.

Of course I have to say that you still need to focus on your skin health from the inside out. Proper and consistent nutrition, vitamins (post coming soon!), exercise, hydration, and sleep are SO important to having a clear, smooth, beautiful complexion.

I love using this like a toner day and night, and it is my must have for right after I shave my face. SAY WHAT? You heard me, I shave my face. Want to know more, let me know if you want to see how and WHY I shave my face in the comments.

Bio-Oil

Currently in my second pregnancy, this has been used daily from the 2nd trimester onward and postpartum. Once I started using it during my first pregnancy in 2016 I just didn’t stop. I totally credit it for my pregnancy (and non-pregs) glow! On top of using all over, I put it on my face/neck/chest and my skin is always plump in the morning on top of fading scars, stretch marks, and discolouration.

DIOR Capture Totale Dreamskin Advanced

I have been using this the last few weeks and I am obsessed. It is my holy grail for no-makeup looks while making my skin look glowy and more even without foundation. I have also used it as a primer under foundation and it is incredible. Only issue? It’s crazy boujee price tag. Maybe the ingredient list is unicorn tears? I don’t know, but I am hoping I can just live off samples of it so I never have to indulge in the big price tag, haha.

OLE HENRIKSEN C-Rush Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer

I love incorporating vitamins into my skincare routine, it somehow makes me feel extra healthy. LOL. This Vitamin C gel absorbs quickly and I love using it during the day before my moisturizer.

OLE HENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème

This has been a recent addition but I have truly seen a noticeable difference in my under eye dark circles and smoothness!

LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream

I bit the bullet a couple years ago when I made the resolution to truly invest in my skincare routine, on my quest of ADULTING. I only pick it up during the Sephora VIB sale (and stack my savings with ebates, check this article on my money saving hacks!). With the stresses of life and motherhood, this cream has fought off the signs of aging and my husband compliments my skin and how nice I look EVERY TIME I wear it. And men don’t just do that, right? It totally validates the investment!

Organic Shea Butter

Its super simple and not very expensive, but I love using this as my morning all over body moisturizer. ESPECIALLY when I am pregnant. It doesn’t feel super greasy and a little goes a long way. Bonus– its good for cradle cap (better than coconut oil IMO!)

SOL DE JANEIRO Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

I love this for the scent, and every time I use it I whisk my imagination away on a breezy warm vacation. Non-greasy and delicious smelling, what could be better?

LA NEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

I have dry, naturally lined/crinkly lips. I have tried EVERYTHING to keep my lips hydrated looking and more plump. I found this a year ago and use it night and day. I even put some in a tiny container to take on the go. A little goes a long way, so this is a staple worth the plunge!

 

With the transition out of the winter blahs into spring my skin has been feeling kinda MEH. I have been looking to amp up my skincare and along comes the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask. I was lucky to be among the first to try this product, gifted by Fresh Beauty!

It is a 2-step mask that delivers continuous hydration overnight, drenching skin with moisture and locking it in so you wake up with a dewy, youthful glow. Step 1 is the Rose Face Mask, a cooling gel powered by rose water, damask rose essence, and hyaluronic acid. Step 2 locks it in with a silky water cream mask that uses time release technology. Even better is that it’s all free of sulfates, parabens, and phalates. The combo deeply hydrates overnight so you wake up looking fresh, supple, and plump.

My sister and I tried the two step mask for a couple nights in a row. I have sensitive combo skin that tends to be drier in the winter months and one of my skin goals is to combat aging. My sister has acne prone skin that has dry patches. She just got back from a week in the sun with a sweet tan (jealous!) but some seriously dry skin from the sun damage. Both of us loved the light rose scent that wasn’t overpowering and was very natural smelling. Step 1 was cooling and absorbed quickly by the skin. Step 2 locked it all in, and as a water cream mask it was only lightly tacky but didnt rub off on our pillows or hair. In the morning I felt refreshed, plumped, and my skin was very smooth. If my skin doesn’t like a product it gets bumpy all over and I am happy to report that after a few uses my skin is happy and is looking lovely!
