We love the summer sunshine, days chilling on the back patio with a drink in hand and no cares in the world. Well, except maybe drinking your calories and suffering a major sugar hangover the next day. Maybe it is just me, but if I have two mixed sugary drinks I feel ROUGH the next day! Am I getting old? LOL
I am sharing my new fave mixed drink — a “Skinny” Iced Tea made with Bourbon, Peaches, and sweetened with a bit of honey. The whole drink clocks in at about 20 calories total, only 2 Net Carbs! A glass of red wine is 85 cals, a pina colada can be 500-900 cals, and most mixed drinks clock in around 200-300 calories! Not to mention all the sugar! Save those carbs for dessert, am I right?
Give this low calorie boozy iced tea a try, it is easy to make and I promise you won’t feel guilty for having more than one!
Ingredients:
- Jack Daniels Bourbon (or Honey Bourbon)
- Honey to sweeten, option
- Ice
- Del Monte Peaches No Sugar Added
- Nestea Zero, chilled
Steps:
- Mix together 2oz of JD with a teaspoon of honey, more if you need a bit more honey flavour and sweetness.
- Then add your ice. Don’t do this first, because we want the alcohol to dissolve the honey. Otherwise it settles at the bottom!
- Add half a cup of the peaches and half the fluid.
- Top off with Nestea Zero.
- Stir well and enjoy!
TIPS
- To make it fancier, make a sweet rimmer with some lemon juice and sugar.
- For more peachy flavour, add 1oz Peach Schnapps.
- You can make your own sweet tea, or unsweetened to control sugar and calories!
- Make it by the pitcher, just 4x the recipe!
- Freeze some peach slices in advance with the ice so the drink is less watered down.
