TRENDING Shearling Combat Boots | SAVE vs SPLURGE

One of the HOTTEST boots of the season is the Marc Fisher Izzie boots. They are beautiful lace up combat boots, suede upper, rubber lug soles, metal hooks, shearling trim and tongue. They are as functional as they are attractive. However, they pack a whopping $249 price. Definitely a SPLURGE! Today I am sharing my thoughts on the real deal as I am comparing the OG Izzie to 3 dupes at MUCH LOWER price points. Is it worth it? Stay tuned for the complete low down!

Here is the shades of Marc Fisher’s Izzie Boot

Is it worth it? Let’s see some dupes!

I did my own investigation IRL. I ordered the Marc Fisher Izzie boots in Cognac and a very similar dupe from American Eagle. I also compared the Walmart version in person at their store. Here are my thoughts!

Walmart Time and Tru Hiker Boots, $25

These are a pretty close dupe for a fraction of the price. The materials are manmade instead of suede, but the stitching quality looks pretty good and there is no visible glue residue. The reviews on the site are overall great, and many have used them comfortably for mild weather hiking. Are they suitable for winter? Not likely in terms of holding up to more extreme snowy and cold climates, but if you have a legit pair of winter boots then this is not a worry. This is a great SAVE! If this is out of stock, then def try the well-rated version from Target.

American Eagle Sherpa Lug $70

I picked these up a week ago and wanted to see if I could compare them to the real deal, which I also ordered. In person the look is similar, see picture. Can you tell which is which?

Ultimately, the quality is lower with the AE boot. You can see the glue on the exterior, inconsistent stitching. Overall though, it is very attractive and definitely a HUGE savings. However, at the same price point is the Nine West boots, below, which are on sale. I trust their quality and visually it looks almost exactly like the Marc Fisher boot!

Nine West $67

This dupe from Nine West is one of the best looking in terms of quality, on sale from $89.99 for $55.99 with code ONLINE20 at checkout! Comes in black and beige. I think this boot is our dupe of the day! Quick, add it to your cart before it sells out again. (fun fact, Marc Fisher’s father was a founder of Nine West, so it is funny their boot is the best dupe. Small world, haha!)

My thoughts on the Marc Fisher Izzie Boots

These Marc Fisher Izzie boots are the definition of casual luxe, and have been the rage the past two years and most certainly won’t go out of style any time soon. Get the dupes and save your $, or invest in a pair that will surely last you for years. At first inspection, the quality looks great. The metal grommets are well secured, pressed in and not glued which means there is less likelihood of breaking. The sole is rugged, good for slippery ice and mucky days. The sole where it meets the boot is stitched AND glued, which is a sign of quality workmanship and a boot that will have longevity. That is something I learned from my contractor husband, who LIVES in work boots and has learned what to look for in a boot so that it is comfortable and LASTS.

The shearling is the real thing, unlike all the dupes where it is faux. I am not bothered by the faux, but I think that is a personal preference for people. It is not fully lined throughout the boot, which means it might not be properly cozy in the colder temperatures. The suede is also real, whereas the similar boots I have shared are faux suede. The big debate between the natural and synthetic is two pronged: ethics (animal vs man made) AND longevity. Synthetic suede has come a LONG way, which is amazing, but generally speaking the knowledge is that natural materials tend to last long, wear better with age, and are more forgiving to clean. The only untested question is how this boot would hold up to -30C (-22F) temperatures.

Overall…. it IS a gorgeous boot. For me, with taxes it was just under $400 shipped. OOF, right? I get the sweats just thinking about a purchase like that! Haha. Is it worth it? You could buy all these dupes for that price!! If you live in a moderate climate where you don’t get a ton a snow… AND you have the budget for this…I say GO FOR IT. They are so stunning and will be great fall through early spring.

I do not know how these will hold up in the super cold winters in Canada and the Northeast U.S. If you can afford both these AND a legit pair of winter boots with proper insulation, then treat yo’self! If not, I think the Nine West dupe is your best bet in terms of appearance and price! You will look right at home in Aspen or on walks with the fam!
